Smiling Woods originated as a hippy, tree-loving brand -- and we haven't changed as we've grown.
Our yurts are designed in the round, with air currents reducing HVAC needs. Round design also allows for more natural movement patterns, requiring less space overall.
Rings are made of rafter cutoffs -- including our LVL.
Our lumber is sourced from the lumber yard across the street, using local Northwest Douglas Fir to reduce the transportation needs. Most of this wood is 2nd generation, and the forest sequesters carbon.
We limit waste by producing just in time, with each project custom. We co-ship where possible.
