COMPLETE YURT KITS
These kits include the walls with cedar T&G siding, windows (as shown) and a door, the exterior trim kit, a roof kit that includes rafters, eaves, bird blocks, metal roof package, thermal opening skylight, construction manuals with c.d. and all the necessary hardware needed to complete the yurt set up.

Place one of these kits on the floor you have constructed from our floor plans and have everything you need to finish the structure to the outside. You'll still need to wire, plumb, insulate and finish out the inside to your liking but these kits make it possible for you to be weathered in, in a matter of days with the help of one or two experienced people.

On the two smaller yurts we offer 2x4 as well as 2x6 walls. We also offer smaller rafters than the larger yurts. This is because these structures are most likely to be used only on occasion and less insulation is less of an issue in the instance of minimal use. Given the environmental cost as well as the obvious monetary cost of heating and cooling, we encourage insulating well. With fiberglass batting the 2x6 rafters allow for R-13 insulation, the 2x8 rafters R-21. With blown in fiberglass or cellulose you can achieve a code acceptable R-35+ with 2x10 rafters. The 2x12 rafters are available if you have super high snow loads or want to super insulate. Some people do use spray in foam which has a higher R value than other insulations. With foam and 2x8 rafters you can achieve code acceptable R Values. The drawbacks of foam are the higher cost and probable toxicity, though the toxicity factor is being addressed by the manufacturers.

ROOF KITS

If you want to build your own walls and have an amazing roof to put on them here they are! These roof kits are everything you will need to build a roof on the top of walls that you have builot to our specifications whether they are stick framed, straw bale, cob etc. When you order one of these kits you will get arched top plates, rafters with cedar ceiling trim, a central compression ring (on the 12' and 15' models the ring is metal, on the larger models it is laminated wood), bird blocks, eaves, the metal roof package, double paned thermal opening skylight (12' and 15' have a 3' skylight, while the larger models have a 5' skylight), yurt floor and walls construction manuals, yurt set up manual with companion c.d., and all the necessary hardware to put the roof kit together.

WALL KITS

We offer these wall kits to help you in the construction of your own 8' walls, if you want taller walls please contact us for pricing.

What is supplied in the complete kit is all the framing lumber for your walls minus any non-custom cut pieces. This leaves a minimal amount of framing lumber for you to purchase and cut (less than 20 - 2x6x8' for the 25' & 30' models)

EXTERIOR TRIM KITS

Trim kits are made of Western Red Cedar and contain all the necessary pieces to trim all the exterior corners, windwos (as noted) and one door for each yurt. If you want more windows or doors we can modify the kits to fit your needs. These kits are part of the complete yurt kits.
