About Us

We are a small family owned and operated business located near the small town of Twisp, in the beautiful Methow Valley in North Central Washington.

We have been in the business of designing and building unique homes, custom cabinets and fine furniture for over 25 years. Round and out of the ordinary has been the main theme of our creations. We have put all of our learned skills and knowledge to use in the design and creation of our yurts.
This has been an interesting process. The first yurt was just a concept,and started with the idea that there must be a more aesthetic and functional way to build a yurt. The original challenge was to find a way to have real windows you could open from the inside, walls you could build cabinets to and hang pictures on and a way to insulate the yurt efficiently.

All along the focus has been on affordability and environmental friendliness. Some aspects have been quite challenging. Finding a roof material other than vinyl was a big challenge. A way to have a healthy, environmentally friendly roof insulation system has been another. We feel we have come up with some good solutions and are thankful for them.

Our roof kits is another that has helped put the project more in your hands and make our buildings even more affordable. As time has gone on our yurts have become more like small round houses and most of our customers are building them as homes and other permanent spaces. They are now basically multi-sided round buildings and only similar to a tent type yurt in basic form. They are designed with ease of set up in mind and the smaller models can be set up easily in a couple of days with the help of a friend or two.

We use recycled and environmentally/user friendly products and materials whenever possible and continue to research options to make our yurts as earth and user friendly as possible. If you know of a product that will help us with our goal, please let us know.

It is and will continue to be our intention to help you to create beautiful, functional and affordable space and to provide information that can help you make environmental and aesthetic choices you will want to live with.
